My third try for =f--l--A--r--k's Challenge 13. I like this one the best, it reminds me of one of Alex Grey's paintings.

10,000 quality and not much of a difference. :\ I'm going to go 25,000 with 3 oversample, maybe that'll help it. I really like this and it's sad that I get blocky/pixely lines. *me sighs* - FIXED :D

Do you post render? That is how I get rid of the grain by tweaking the gamma and brightness with the fractal at quality, that guessing beforehand.

As far as blockiness is concerned, I move the filter radius up in post render. I don't see any problem with the radius here though. I've been on a 1 kick, though less might suit this style more.

It may be a matter of weights in the transforms, if you give some more to the cylinders, or less to the elliptic and splits that should clean up the grain somewhat too.

I don't think that this type of flame needs a quality as high as 10,000, much less 25,000

I rendered at 6,000 I think . . .

Thanks for your response. :D I fixed it by popping the (you guessed it) filter radius up to 1. It was a bit more pixelated (more like a lot) before, and I kept the quality at 4k. I never thought to try the weights though.

Thanks though! :D ^^

Yep yep! Flark's 13th challenge was splits-elliptic, and this was my submission. :D Ty!
